Bev Shea
George Beverly Shea February 1, 1909 - April 16, 2013 RIP
It is reported that this Grammy-winning gospel singer sang to more people face-to-face than any other singer in the history of the world. His live audience totals in excess of 200,000,000.
I believe I was eighteen when I first heard him in person. He would have been 43 at the time.

We just watched an interview from a few years ago that he did on tv the other day. Truly a life well lived~
While I have never heard the gentleman sing I did read his obit this morning in the newspaper. It appears he had a wonderful sense of humor.
On another note, I am an avid reader of obits and I am always amused when a person dies at a great age, like 104, as this gentleman did, and the obit reads "No cause of death was given"....He WAS 104 for pete's sake. He just plumb wore out.
Shelly, he lived a life that "made a difference."
Grace, your observation is spot-on. I mean, 104? Yep, worn out.
I saw Grace wrote that he had a good sense of humor--did he have a good obit? You know I like a good obit.
Lin, as befitting of one of such longevity, he had a long obit!
It ended with a quote, “The man who signed up Elvis (to RCA) signed me up,” Mr. Shea said in 2011. “I think Elvis sold a few more records than I did.”

It seemed as if he would just live forever. O wait! He is... we just have to wait to hear him again.
