Simple Things

Young lady, thirty-something, came up to me yesterday and sald, "Mr. Lacy, when I was in kindergarten and you were my principal, you once loaned me a dime so I could have a carton of milk.  I'll always remember that."

I thanked her for telling me that; gave me the warm fuzzies to be remembered for a simple thing I had long forgotten.

Aw, how sweet of her to tell you that. Isn't it amazing that is what she remembers?? Something so little, yet kind.

Thus we touch lives in an meaningful way without being aware of the full impact.

Lin, to be remembered (in a positive light) is something we all cherish, I think.

Chuck, true. And if a small simple act remembered as kindness makes a dent, how much more the impact of a remembered unkind act? All of our behaviors have consequences.

How nice is that? A difference you made in a student's life without realizing how much you were appreciated.

Vee, sometimes I think it is the small things in life that matter most.
