Blessings

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the US of A.  Now, everyday should be a day of thanksgiving, for scripture tells us,

" In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  (I Thessalonians 5:18)

Yet it is meet and right that we have set aside a specific Day of Thanksgiving, for it is a reminder to us that we should live with an attitude of thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving.  May all your days be richly blessed!

It's fitting to have a day when we focus on the things in our lives for which we can give thanks and put aside the problems we deal with on a daily basis.

While in Colorado, we spent more than one Thanksgiving with friends who had inherited a huge dining table. For holiday meals, they would stretch this table out and could seat up to 22 people. On Thanksgiving, after we were seated at the table, a decorated basket was passed around and we each picked up a little rock (representing God as the foundation of our lives) that had been placed above our plates. As we put the rock in the basket, we told the group what we were most thankful. It was so precious to see little ones reaching for their rocks and participating in this tradition.

I hope you had a wonderful day.

Chuck, thank you; it was a good Thanksgiving Day. Now, on to the Sunday family gathering!

Vee, a neat thing. Not many families take time and thought to develop a tradition, much less follow through with it.

Glad you had a quiet one. I guess you have a big dinner under your belt (literally) now, though
