Shopping With the Beloved One

A few days ago, Beautiful suggested a stop at a nearby mall. I was amenable to the suggestion, but although she offered me the opportunity to requested that I wait in the car, I chose to enter the store.
I did not interfere or hover as she looked over the goods, but after I had noted several disturbing sartorial trends for distaff members of our society, it occured to me that I had a camera on my belt.
It appears to me that if these items are adopted and worn by (I would hope no one but) the young, milady may quite likely fall out the bottom of her clothing (Exhitit 1); or indeed she may fall out the top of her attire (Exhibit 2). If either, neither or both of these occur, it is yet also likely that she may fall off her shoes! (Exhibit 3).

I am surprised that there were no security wardens demanding that I hand over the camera, given the racy nature of the photography. Or perhaps it would be wise for the old man to simply stay in the car in future.

The shoes are just fine, even tho I can no longer wear such but the top and bottom - well, they really don't cover much top and bottom do they? Especially if you have a lot of top and bottom to begin with...

those cut off jean shorts are all the rage right now. UGH. I think they should remain in 1985 where they belong. And yes, next time you might want to skip the store. lol. Although, these are not as bad as some clothing options I have seen.

Oh, that's NUTHIN'! (Sorry, Grace, for the grammar) Try to buy your teen daughter anything hip that doesn't show everything she owns. Sheesh, it's crazy! I have a doozy of a photo for you after one of my visits to the store. The bathing suit was so unbelievable, I had to take a photo.

I might think the pictured clothes are a response to the Indiana heat and humidity if it were not for the fact that people here are wearing the same kinds of things. Modesty aside, unless someone is a size one (and maybe age one) there is nothing attractive or cute about how most of them look in a non-clothed state. The shoes should carry a warning. (I know from experience what exteremely high heels do to the feet.)

Why are folks always trying to keep sages like you in their place?

That pair of shorts is the kind that may seem delightful on someone else, but when it's on your wife or daughter, considerably less so. "You're not going out in *those*, are you?"

Grace, I agree with you on the shoes. I actually think they are rather attractive, much more so than dozens of others I saw. And yeah, those shorts were size 16, evoking an image I wish I could erase from my mind.

JennyMac, next time, perhaps I will be wise enough to stay in electronics and hardware. Or in the car.

Lin, you have a lucky daughter who has a mother who cares. Apparently many don't.

Vee, the pictured jeans garment was a size 16. Now there is nothing wrong with "being a 16" but wearing that garb just isn't right. At any size.

Chuck, I can't figure that out. I mean...

Jim, fortunately for me, my wife and my daughters are way past that age.

I don't "get" clothes like that. And even less understandable is paying money for them. I'll stay in the car too.

Shark, truly if people must have that stuff, they should go to Goodwill for cheap, then chop the things up themselves. I don't get it, either. I think we've lost our compasss somewhere.
