vanilla on Vanilla

Should you ever be driving through Indiana on Route 18 going east from Marion or on Route 3 going north from Hartford City when you come to the intersection of these two highways, stop and get a Tin Lizzy.
This picture will lead you to understand my personal enthusiasm for this particular soft drink.  It is not the brand name, nor the pretty pictures.
It is well-worth the stop.

A&W and Nehi make worthy cream sodas, too.
As to the latter, though, I can't say that blue is my favorite color for a soda pop.

I've never heard of Tin Lizzy brand! Is it local to that intersection?

I've never heard of Tin Lizzy, but if ever I get the opportunity, we will try it!

That's very cool! I'm not a big creme soda fan, but I think I would give it a sip.

Love cream soda but since I'm from New York City it's Dr. Browns. We rarely had soda at home because of the financial thing but we could walk to Jack's candy store (or Ruby's but there was a neighborhood thing going on - they were both equi-distant from my house but different people hung out at each one. I belonged to the Jack's crowd) and get a cherry coke for a nickel. Or a chocolate egg cream - I think it was ten cents but you got a stick pretzel with it...Actually I think ten cents must be wrong - that was a lot of money back in those days...

Jim, Tin Lizzy is a gift shop/ice cream store at that intersection. It features a twenty-foot "ice cream man" statue. I suspect the soda is a private label, but I've no idea who bottles it for them.

Shelly, come on up to Indiana! As I commented to Jim, I suspect Tin Lizzy is a private label.

Lin, you might like the pop, and I believe you would get a good laugh if you were to see that statue!

Grace, a dime was a lot of money; but that may have been right. Perhaps why I never had an "egg cream." Interesting that the youngsters identified themselves by their hangouts.

I explained this a little in today's post. Thanks for the inspiration!

Grace, a very nice job of explaining you did on Dragon's Alley!

From the shape of the bottle, I thought you might be plugging a different kind of drink! : ) Even though I lived in Indiana, I had not heard of this one.

Vee, too new. I think Tin Lizzy was established in 2000. And that is a purty bottle!
