The Deaths of Barrow and Parker

On this date in 1934 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana bank robbers and murderers Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow died in a bullet-riddled 1934 Ford.

There is much information on the internet about the lives and crime sprees of these people.  I even dared to write a fictional story based on a possible escapade of the gang.  You may find it here.

Fun story - I wonder why I missed it first time around...

We won't be celebrating this day.

I didn't hear about this holiday. I guess there is enough crime and murders going on these days that they don't have to report the old stuff.

Grace, I am happy that you read the story.

Chuck, nothing to celebrate. Well, except that we have another day!

Lin, more than enough stuff going on now. But I am a bit of a history buff. Old Guy thing, doncha know?

I saw a documentary on them once and it was absolutely fascinating! I read that they are making a modern-day movie about them as well.

Existentialist, they lived unconventional and wicked lives and we seem to be perpetually fascinated by such. One tidbit I read stated that when she died Bonnie was wearing the wedding ring given her by her husband whom she had not seen in five years.
