May Flowers

Approaching mid-May, first blooms of the iris, the columbine, and the clematis-- shades of purple.

The variegated dogwood sporting its pink-and-white and sharing a space with its unidentified magenta friend.

So pretty. We don't have any flowers going on right now. We have huge planters all around the building and they are usually chock full of gorgeous blooms but I think it has been too wet for any new plantings...

That's a particularly lovely iris. It's nice to see all the pretty blossoms on flowers and flowering trees.

Grace, a slow Spring, but we are blessed with floral beauty now.

Chuck, unfortunately that is the only cultivar we saved when we moved from the previous place where we had thirteen varieties. But it is a nice one.

The "purples" are always the first to bloom in the garden. Can't wait for the pinks, whites and yellows too. Lovely blossoms, Vanilla!
