I have an eye-dee ten tee problem.
Speaking of ten, I chose yesterday to download a new OS. I have been quite happy with Windows 7 and have become familiar with it, warts and all. I like it.
So I was advised that Windows 10 would enhance my computing experiences, I would "love it," in today's vernacular.
I am an idiot.
If I go to a "restore point" just prior to the download, will I get my "7" back or am I, again in the vernacular, screwed?
Ta ta da! Got "7" back.

Hubby was advised by our son to wait on the download until he did some research for him. The next day we received a message from our internet provider with a number to call if we had downloaded and all of our previous email had disappeared. Once again a demonstration that "new and improved" is not always improved. Good to know information about being able to restore.
My Mac gets periodic system updates but there has not been a completely new operating system in the five years I have had it.
I finally convinced my husband to get an iMac - if only because his 15-inch screen Windows lap top was a strain on his eyes and his back (scrunching over to see). I heard him on the phone saying "It's so much easier once you un-learn..." He's not a much of a computer person and does little more than check email, play chess and backgammon and curate his music collection but the happiest day of my life (ok - slight exaggeration) was when I ditched Microsoft some 10 years ago...
Vee, My guru says the device needs to be cleaned before 10 is installed. He wishes ms had made that a part of the installation. 10 is wonderful according to him.
I've heard good things about 10, but have not tried it.
Grace, I know you love your mac. Maybe some people simply get too old to unlearn.
Chuck, if I do give it a test drive I'll let you know.

Chuck, there will be no report forthcoming. My guru cleaned the machine, said there is a wonky sector; may last years, may die tomorrow. Recommended no load on Ten.
