A Winter's Day

We were out and about after the snowfall.  I did not take any pictures outdoors, because everything was covered with cold, white stuff (blecch).  But we stopped in this nice warm, cheery place!

BBBH leisurely assayed the newest offerings, walked out with an armload of books.

As I prepped an early evening cup of coffee, I saw a fabulous red glow through the west window.  My camera does not do justice to a sunset.  You might note the thermometer on the tree.  19o was the high for the day.

That is a fine library. Sure looks friendly and inviting.

Chuck, it is all that. Our community is justifiably proud of its library.

As much as I like clean, contemporary, modern I've never felt comfortable in the new modern decorated libraries. There are no cozy places in them - all glass and blond wood and low seating and open spaces and lots of light which normally, with the exception of low seating, is my favored environment. I guess my heart and mind is stuck in the wonderland of the library of my formative years - marble staircase leading into wood paneled reception area, wide, polished grand curved staircase to second floor; the children's section with cozy window seats. I was happy to graduate to the adult sections of the library but so often I went back to those windows seats with my books to while away an afternoon.

Great sunset!

Grace, you would have enjoyed the furor as the community made the decision, ultimately, to raze the old yellow brick Carnegie Library to make room for the new. Much as I miss the old place, it was the right decision.

Love the sunset picture! My mind switched the positive/negative or innie/outie spaces in the Library, and I saw a UFO

Sharkey, I thought I saw the UFO when I pointed my camera up there, but when I "developed" the picture, I couldn't find it. o-o-o-o-o

Beautiful sunset. We have the cold but not the fluffy white stuff.

Vee, hate the cold, but if you've no snow, count your blessings.
