It is Well

"When peace like a river attendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say 'It is well, it is well with my soul'.

"And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul." --Horatio G. Spafford

This is my very favorite hymn. I love the pictures you chose to go with it.

Thanks.

Love this song! We actually still sing hymns at our church.

The history how this hymn came about and penned by Hymn-Writer Horatio G. Spafford's during the most tragic events of his life was most inspiring and heartfelt.

It has been a source of reminder for many to find their faith and comfort in knowing that "God is (always) our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

What a incredible hymn!

Mikki--A favorite hymn of mine, too. Took the pictures yesterday. Thank you. (You've been really busy? No posts lately.)

Vee--E. chose this to be sung at her funeral. The praise choruses have their place, but replacing the old hymns isn't it.

Silver--Thank you for the link! Very interesting reading. God is our refuge and strength through all tragedies and trials. Praise His name!

I have the hymn chosen for my funeral, also, but who knows if anyone will honor that!
