Fading Fall

Queen Anne's Lace makes one stubborn last Attempt huddled next the ground
Frost has laid her tall proud sisters low
But she soldiers on.

Pine straw tan and falling fast soon will cover
All the Grass beneath the windbreak and then
The West wind will blow cold.
But we will soldier on.

Lin, I also am not ready but I am trying to face the inevitable with equanimity. :-)

Frost already?

Vee, it is the last week of October. Tomato vines gone; fried green tomatoes for supper. Yes, it is coming.

Soldier on little flower! They are talking the "S" word for tonight and tomorrow morning. I refuse to get out the shovels yet.

Jono, the "S" word is one of my most hated four-letter words. Hope it goes easy on you this coming season.
