Grace, the columbine very kindly came up volunteer just in front of the clematis. The butterfly was flapping its wings and I had hoped to catch her "open" but still I thought this shot worth saving.
LOVE that columbine---it's a double-variety and my favorite. I have one here that pops up all over the garden and it is maroon....so lovely.
Oh...and admiral butterfly! Did he sit on you? They are known for sitting on your head or shoulders if you sit still out in the yard! Hobbes was stalking ours yesterday...and then got yelled at. Wish he would stalk the neighbor's new barky dog.
Lin, we have several double columbines that have appeared around the front yard, these pink/white ones and a deep purple variety. The butterfly flitted on his merry way not stopping to caress me.
