Old curmudgeon vanilla
sat on a sofa pilla
Much to his surprise
a spider of great size
crawled up and sat down beside him.
The creature meant no harm
so without any alarm
vanilla placed the beautiful beast
for a photo at least
in the bowl of the kitchen sink.
For comparison, a penny
was carefully put in a
position nearby; the shutter: "click,"
he took the pic
he's sharing. Isn't that nice?

No...just no.
Grace, what? You think she is not a beautiful creature? Truth, I am not fond of sharing the interior of my house with spiders, but this one is, yep, a "house spider." They are mildly venomous but not terribly aggressive. No bite this time.
Aw jeeze - you just made it worse...
Grace, sorry. Stopping now. *snicker*
Gives me the shivers!
Vee, happy to be of assistance! You are home now?
Arrived home at almost midnight. Since I'm not a night person, I don't deal very well with late hours.
You were a most polite host. I often escort the large ones outside, but I don't kill them.
Sharkey, while I "like" spiders, generally speaking, I am not fond of sharing my personal living space with them.
Ick.
I do not like spiders. Not in person. Not in photos. Ick. Ick. Ick.
I am sorry that he is at your house, but very glad he is not at mine.
Lin, your reaction is, I suspect, typical of the majority. Probably fewer than 17% of the folks would say they like/or are not repulsed by spiders. (Statistics drawn from thin air.)
More than 54% of statistics are made up on the spot. (I think)
Yes, that was nice. While I don't "love" spiders I do tolerate them. They play an important role in our ecology.
Chuck, spiders are quite important to the balance of nature. Glad we have them, but again, I prefer not to share my personal living space with them.
