Pork Time on the Square

Workers are driving tent stakes, moving bleachers, blocking off a fair portion of our lovely downtown area.  It is Tipton County Pork Festival time again and preparations are in full swing.

Festivities scheduled from noon, Thursday, September 4 until the end of Saturday, September 6, on the Square in Tipton, Indiana.

Think of this as my annual public service announcement.  Check the Festival website by clicking here.  More importantly, come and spend your money!

Our fair town had bacon fest a few weeks ago. Hard to beat pig food. :)

Awww...a baby contest! I like festivals of all kinds and oddly enough growing up in an urban area there were way more than in any of the the more rural areas I have lived. Enjoy!

Vee, the thing is, festivals draw crowds, and shuffling along bumping into people is not one of my favorite activities. ;o)

KC Bob, pork: yum! I am a big fan of BLT season, i.e., that time in which one plucks the tomatoes from his own vines.

Grace, seems that every town in Indiana which boasts a population greater than fifty has some sort of festival each summer. I show up at only the two closest ones.

Those pigs look way too happy for the reality that I'm sure the festival includes eating a number of their cohorts!

Once again our church's annual Hog Roast falls on the same weekend. I'll be thinking of you my friend, but I'll get my pork sandwich a mile down the road at the fellowship hall.

Sharkey, the deal is, we keep our pigs contented and happy, and in complete ignorance of their ultimate fate.

Chuck, enjoy your pork, and I will go a half-mile down the street to get mine. I'll think of you as I bite into my pork chop!

Dang! I wish I was there to enjoy the fest! It certainly sounds delicious. I'm sure you are going to post photos, right?

Lin, pictures? maybe, if the hands aren't too full of pork chops.
