Christmas in July

The Christian Campers' Fellowship met at Potato Creek State Park for its July outing.  The theme this time was "Christmas in July."  No kidding, there were decorations aplenty, Christmas carols were sung, and a gift exchange was hosted by Old Santa himself on the final night!

Should you have been among those who happened by and heard the carols, or the laughter during the gift exchange, and thought, "What silly old people!" let me advise you that there is room in a life well-lived for a certain amount of silliness.  Try it.

Great wisdom in your last two sentences, and great fun in this post~

I'm all for silliness - I practice silliness as often as possible, just so I don't forget how. Christmas carols are marvelous any time of the year...I rock out to a gospel version of the Hallelujah chorus all year round...And a grand time was had by all...

(Thanks again for the white rheostat...made my day.)

Glad you had fun! What I would like is some of that weather we have around Christmastime. I'm just not a hot weather person and Kansas has a lot of hot weather.

Shelly, we had a good time. I wanted to share that!

Grace, I would like to hear you singing the Hallelujah chorus. Glad you like the white knob.

Vee, while it has been plenty warm enough here this year, it is nothing like the terrible summer of 2012.

Christmas in July? I don't even think there should be Christmas in a warm climate!

Murr, so you are one of those who associates Christmas with snow and sleighs and stuff. Well, may all your Christmases be merry, anyway.

Any OTHER group who is being silly is always denigrated. When our own group is being silly, it's fun. (It's always fun)

Shark, true; and I believe we apply that thinking to many activities/positions.
