Those are honking big creatures! The question always comes up as to what is the difference between American buffalo and bison...I suppose I'll have to go look that up now - just when I wanted to eat lunch ::sigh::
Shelly, the dustwallow was perhaps a dozen yards from us. I liked how the beast rolled, then looked up as though to say, "How was that?"
Grace, "huge" was my descriptor, but "honking big" says it better. I believe "American bison" and "American buffalo" are interchangeable terms, both acceptable nomenclature for the same beastie.
I think they are amazing critters. Once had to stop on a bicycle for a small group to decide to get off the road. That was a little tense, but not to be forgotten!

Those are incredible beasts. It's funny to see them taking a dust bath like a little birdy. :)

Shark, tense? I've never been that close without a fence between us. They are huge.
