Wile E.

On the way home from the doctor's office Wednesday afternoon, we spotted the beautiful creature walking leisurely alongside the highway. Clearly, we could not stop in the heavily congested construction area, so the picture is borrowed. But the animal we saw was exactly as depicted. It apparently had zero concern for the frenetic human activity in the area.

The doctor was very pleased with the appearance of his handiwork. Good for him. Stitches, he said, will dissolve and all will be well. I should hope so.

They are beautiful...right up until they're killing your chickens. Or your pets.

They're making a comeback all over. Predators are a natural and healthy part of the ecosystem. However when you or yours become their prey, they can be downright annoying.

They are smart creatures, dodging traffic and animal welfare everywhere. We have them here too--I actually saw one going up an off-ramp off the highway one evening. And no, he didn't use his signals....

Good news about the surgery! Be patient with the stitches. They will go away.

Until this summer we had a fox family in our complex. The babies are so cute! But last summer Papa and Mama Fox made the mistake of selecting housing in the crawl space underneath one of the units. The residents above did not like the fleas. So now all of the crawl spaces are sealed and the fox family has moved on. (This story has no relationship whatsoever to your stitches going away. Just so you know.)

We have coyotes around here too.

Glad to hear that the recovery progresses well from your surgery.

Happy that you are recovering well...We only have two-legged predators here and they certainly are not pretty.

Curt, we are keenly aware that our 17 lb. dog would be a mere morsel for such a beast.

Lin, they are clever; and apparently able to survive almost anywhere.

Vee, in truth, fleas can be much more than an annoyance. The stitches? Well, they hold things together!

Chuck, yeah, it is a Coyote Nation, isn't it?

Grace, thanks. I am of the opinion that four-legged predators are simply surviving by natural means, whereas two-legged predators are just nasty and inexcusable.

Hi Vanilla,

Glad your eye surgery came off so well. And that right off you saw something as beautiful as that creature on the road. I hope you have many more beautiful sights ahead.

That is a good-looking coyote. They are usually mangier.

John, thank you. There are so many beautiful things yet to see in this world!

Shark, I was surprised, too, at the animals appearance. Seemed to be in good condition. Must be plenty of something in the area.
