This memory isn't in school curriculum...and means so little to today's kids. So my husband, googled it and spent time yesterday talking to the kids about it...we do the same for 9/11...

Dapoppins, I applaud your efforts to make your children aware of the importance of events in our nation's past. I wish more parents realized that they must not depend on the schools for the complete education of their children. (A child's education is the responsibility of its parents. Schools were established to assist in tht task. Where have we gone wrong?)

Tasha, there have been some good movies made with Pearl Harbor as the backdrop. I've seen some excellent documentaries, too. (Would you believe your Grandfather can remember the day the news came through that Pearl Harbor had been bombed?)

Tasha, I do remember. "Spiffy." Does that mean, "You're really old, Grandpa."? *grins*
