Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker died May 23, 1934 in Bienville Parish, LA six weeks before I was born.
"For sustained speed and freedom from trouble the Ford has got ever (sic) other car skinned"----Letter from Clyde Barrow to Henry Ford. Ford Museum, Dearborn, MI.
[Happy Birthday to Grandson Jeremy and Greatgrandson Kaden]
Back in the 50s, a friend had a 30 something Hudson Terraplane. Another kid at school had a nearly new Ford. The raced around a nearby lake to see which car was faster. It was a draw, which infuriated the Ford owner.
Chuck, funny you should mention that. Same time-frame, I had a friend who had a Terraplane. He bought oil by the case and carried it in the trunk! Added a quart to the crankcase about every seventy miles.
