Red Riding Hood and the Old Grey Wolf.

Pretty little girl, long dark hair, perhaps 27, appears at bedside, two a.m.  She had cared for me when I was on her wing.  She wore a red woolen winter coat and a grey scarf around her neck.

"Just got off shift and wanted to say 'Hi' before I go home."

"Hi.  Thanks.  I appreciate the visit."

"You are looking really good!"

And there it is.  I have grandchildren older than she; I am lying on my back staring up from the sheet tucked around my neck; just awake from three-hour sleep.

It must be the lighting, muted as it is filtering in from the open door.

Or it could be her professional opinion!

She probably heard you were going home today and wanted to say "goodbye." What a blessing we have in people like that in our world.

Jim, perhaps.

Grace, lots of nice people working here.

Chuck, visitors always accepted, day or night!

Wow! That was very sweet of her. She didn't refer to you as "Grandmother" or anything, did she??

You going home??? WOW! I sure hope so! I'm sure Weiner Dog does too.

Lin, No grandmother reference, but I thought of that; home next Tuesday, it seems.

Nice that you become a favorite in every situation.

Vee, then so how is it that in most social situations involving more than one or two persons I feel like the Invisible Man?

Vee said...

That's because introverts build individual relationships easily but dislike social situations. As a result, introverts subconsciously withdraw from the talkative, sensing, feeling, judging people who thrive in herds. These kinds of groups actually cause an introvert to become physically exhausted - a condition remedied by alone time or maybe even a nap. If introverts could switch to a second gear and become at once gregarious and bubbly, they would attract extroverts to themselves like ants to a picnic. But no can do for true introverts - that minority of intuitive, thinking, perceiving people.

"Who are you wearing would be a serious question for an extrovert - a laughable one for an introvert.

Ask me how I know.

I can totally relate.

Vee, interesting analysis. I suppose you may be right.

Jono, I believe you. It isn't all beer and skittles, is it?
