Forty-five days 'til, , ,

A week ago, Vee was longing for the end of the election cycle.  Well, it has ended, and her wish to see the last of the electioneering has been granted.  (I hope she is not still getting phone calls from party hacks, but with technology, flawed as it is, who knows?)

We do know, however, that the commercials for the candidates have been removed from the airwaves and the fibers.  (Unless, of course, you live in Louisiana.)  But with what have the commercial slots been filled?

Yep, you guessed it.  Do you reckon six and a half weeks will be long enough to make us weary of Christmas?

We had a double dose on election week---election ads AND Christmas ads. ugh. Stop the madness!

We record the shows we watch regularly and fast-forward through commercials. This makes TV watching much less annoying. Public television with no commercials other than listing sponsors at the beginning of programs also saves us from commercial frustration. (Thanks, DIRECTV.)

At least Christmas advertisers do not call on our telephone - not yet.

I'd better get cracking on my Christmas cards then. So behind - we are still trying to track down our Thanksgiving turkey!

We already put the first Christmas flyers in the papers, last week. Ugh.

Lin, oh, my! That is piling it on.

Vee, one does weary of certain commercials, yet you run the risk of missing something funny if you don't watch them.

Grace, no pressure, but-- get cracking!

Sharkey, indeed. Pressure us into spending, spend, spend, spend!

Yes, I do reckon so. No doubt we'll be sick of Christmas silliness long before the day comes in view.

Chuck, much as we enjoy our "freedom of speech" there are times I think "there oughta be a law." Or at the least, a gentleman's agreement.
