Sometimes Enough is Too Much

"That thing," she said, "has occupied that table for eight days.  That's it.  I'm done with it."

So does this mean I have to finish it by myself?

I think it means you have to do it yourself or it's okay if you just put it back in the box. Or as the preacher told the new sheriff in Blazing Saddles, "You're on your own."

It must be a hard puzzle with all of that blue sky. At our place it takes longer than eight days to complete even a much simpler a puzzle. Maybe we don't stick to the task for long enough stretches of time.

Putting a puzzle back in the box without completing it would make me crazy.

Yeah, I couldn't give up. You're almost there!

So close- I do think it means it's in your hands now!

I can't imagine having a 'work in progress' out on a table for 8 days...I'm one of those get it done and get it gone people...Probably why I never got into big puzzles like that - once started it would have to be finished - Now. Of course the thing with jigsaw puzzles is - once you've done it what do you do with it? Take it apart, after all your work, and put it back in the box? That frustrated me as a kid...I sometimes do jigsaws on-line...a bit of quick fun.

Chuck, I am pleased that there are options. And if I am on my own, there is no one who will criticize my choice?

Vee, not only is it the case that the color gives virtually no clue, but there are but two cuts; the individual pieces vary by mere millimicrons. I am thankful that I do not suffer the same degree of compulsion that my sister seemingly does.

Sharkey, "almost" in this case seems an unbridgeable chasm. We shall see.

Shelly, too right. I think there is no more assistance forthcoming from anyone in these environs.

Grace, that is correct. One takes it apart, puts it back in the box, then stores it in the already limited storage space, whilst obtaining yet another puzzle. Go figure.

Yes. you have to finish it. I can't leave it undone either.

I still have to get my puzzle out to you.

Lin, oh, my. You don't leave much wiggle room.

No hurry if I have to finish this one!

You may be on your own, but that doesn't mean you're home and dry when it comes to critics.

Chuck, you do state truth, for in fact, as someone said, Everyone's a critic. (Unbelievably, the puzzle is nearly complete; those darn pieces are all so similar!)
