Destination!

Snapped these pictures Saturday evening on the beach in Galveston.  Sunday morning we moved on down the road.  A leisurely drive, a great lunch at a nice seafood restaurant in Port Lavaca, then a few more minutes behind the wheel, put us in Rockport.  We are anchored and the intent is to be here for several weeks,

1501 miles behind us, a wonderful Texas winter ahead!

Cute picture of Jo! I'm sure we have flowers like those in your picture, but they are not visible this morning since everything outside is covered with about half an inch of white stuff.

We got a metric ton of rain here over the weekend. It flooded the golf course behind my house, and then froze overnight. Skating anyone?

Enjoy Texas!

Shelly, thank you for the weather report. Mild sounds about right!

Jim, those over-abundant rains followed by freezing: reasons why we are in Texas. (Not that it won't rain here, but freezing is quite unlikely.)

Vee, you got your snow! That is what you wanted, isn't it?

Are those Dandelions? They are aren't they?

Wow, If I did not have these these critters to take care of I would hop in my pick-up and go to Corpus.

Oh my goodness Jo looks marvelous! You are a lucky and blessed man Vanilla. But, I think you know that.

Oh my keep the pictures coming. It's cold and cloudy here again today. I am living vicariously through ya'll's travels.

Wow, I cannot believe I just used the word.....ya'll's...and did not get a red flag.

Happy Monday to you both of you!

Jackie, not dandelions. They are on the bushes you see in front of Jo. I don't know what they are. Flower looks like a cosmos or daisy, but the bush resembles neither.

Y'all have a good day, too!

Glad you are now ready to settle in for (hopefully) some sunshine!

Imagine staying at "The Cow port" (Port Lavaca). That's Texas for you. In Florida they have a place called "Mouse Mouth" (Boca Raton).

Chuck, place names are so interesting. We also came through "Red Stick" (Baton Rouge) and "Big Head" (Grosse Tete). Later this winter we may be in Agua Dulce, and I guess the meaning of "Corpus Christi" is evident.

Shark, it is always a good feeling to reach safely the destination one aims for.
