I got the Canon A4000 IS and walked the few steps to the fence.
Now the problem. Much as I like this little camera, this was the very situation in which the lack of a view-finder practically precludes getting the shot.
The examples shown here were by point and by guess, for the screen
swas so washed out by the sunlight that no effort to shade it would allow me to focus on the object of my choosing. Major flaw. Fortunately, I still have my A520, so the next time the butterflies fly my way, I'll be better prepared.

And these last few days have been blessed with glorious weather, making those butterflies even more spectacular. Those little butterflies must feel as good as we all do in it-
5 degrees here this morning, with -15 wind chill. No butterflies here today.
It's still nice to see the little guys!
It's FREEZING here this morning--but I'm not complaining. Nope. No way. It's finally feeling like WINTER! Hooray.
Now...for some snow....

Ah butterflies! the photos came out well...
Been out in the cold and snow today. Errand had to be run. No sign of butterflies around these parts.
Maybe down the road a whoop and a holler . . . (one I left out yesterday)

Love the spot pattern on them. Don't know the kind.
Shark, they are lovely creatures. Sometimes there are some sulfurs along with them.
