To Everything There is a Season

The purple ash tree is in our back yard.  This shot uses the neighbor's green tree as a contrast to the purple of this little gem.  While it is a lovely green color throughout the summer, when fall arrives it turns purple.  Very nice.   Yet soon, too soon, these leaves will be on the ground and require raking.  (At least the ones that don't blow over into the neighbor's yard.  What he does with them is up to him.)

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

King James Version (KJV)
  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Beautiful tree! I wonder why people don't turn beautiful when going through the "fall years," and the winter years are just plain hard work. Which reminds me that I need to get off the computer so I have time to paint my face before heading out to church.

That is a beautiful tree, whether green leafed or purple. And I agree with Vee- the fall and winter seasons of life are SO much more work-

Beautiful. Our ash trees died. Victims of the emerald borer.

Vee, perhaps people do exhibit beauty in the "fall years" but we have become so conditioned to the "cult of youth" that we fail to see the beauty.

Shelly, it is true that it takes effort to keep going in the fall and winter seasons of life.

Chuck, the emerald borer unfortunately is creeping into our area as well. Keeping watch.

Love those trees with interesting colors. What are the little 4s?

Shark, we are beginning to get some bright colors in some of the trees now. The "4"s are color tiles, red and blue, to emphasize the purple of the leaves.

Autumn is the falling out of hair and turning from colored to whiteness. We are in the fall of our lives

Bob, if one is to go by appearances, neither of us can deny it.
