Mary, Queen of Scots

Mary was born December 8, 1542 and on December 14 of that same year she became Queen of Scots upon the death of her father, James V. She reigned until July 1567. It was a time of intrigue, arranged marriages, arson?, murder?, imprisonment, escape, imprisonment, execution of the principal, and, you know, the usual royal goings-on.

Mary was executed on February 8, 1587 at Fotheringhay Castle.
She was 44 years of age.

Fascination with the royals these days is encouraged by media coverage of divorces, affairs, and marriages to commoners. At least with this new paradigm they get to keep their heads!

Vee, yes, the head-rolling is of a different caliber these days.

JennyMac, fly might be a good choice; perhaps the only creature that would be safe in that day and place.

I'm really fuzzy on British history (and don't really care very much)
