Can Spring Be Far Behind?

Perseverance

End of February's first week
Bright sunshine
Gentle breeze
Warmth flows across the frozen earth
Out of Season.

Teasin'.

The heart leaps! Spring is near!
Be not deceived
These latitudes are not relieved
Of winter's ice and cold
This soon.

A respite brief
Yet some relief
From long chill
Set in the bones.

We'll take it.

Then hunker down
'Twill soon be past
Prepare for next cold
Snowy blast.

We'll survive.

I don't start thinking about Spring until March is over. I just can't. If we get some nice weather in there, it's a treat...but I can't get my hopes up.

Although....I have been planning my Spring Cleaning projects now. :)

We've got 50's, even a 60, predicted for the coming week - then baboom Friday - back below zero. I expect we will see-saw like this for the rest of the month. Let's all be thankful we don't live in New England!

Lin, it may be all right to think (dream)about Spring, but one definitely does not want to plan on it before March is over!

Grace, and so it goes. I suspect your seesaw prediction will eventuate.

And we must consider the ground hog.

Vee, we must? Friday: snowcover complete; Sunday: snow gone.

Love it! I never could get used to spring in March, though, when I lived in Indiana.

Sharkey, it is not possible to "get used to" March in Indiana. One endures it.

Experimental post.

OK, you gave me my real LOL moment of the day. I dunno though... the redbuds began blooming on campus, and the air warmed, and the snow turned to mud...oh. there we are.

Vee, that worked.

Sharkey, and now you have given me a smile, just thinking about the redbuds!

Temps have been great in KC. I can smell Spring. :)

Bob, I do hope Spring is that close, for when you "get it" we cannot be far behind!

I love the poem. Spring is about here, here. Bluebonnets already peaking up- won't be long!

Shelly, thank you. We will miss the bluebonnets and the Texas roadside flowers this year. But if I can be patient a bit longer, Spring will come here, too!
