I knew that the light was a 150 second wait from my position, so I grabbed the camera and snagged this shot. Seems the lady on the sidewalk found the vehicle to be of interest, too.

A Many Years' Trip from South Bend to Perfect
I knew that the light was a 150 second wait from my position, so I grabbed the camera and snagged this shot. Seems the lady on the sidewalk found the vehicle to be of interest, too.

That is a sweet ride! I wonder how it handles in the ice and snow? (Can you tell I am from the Midwest?! ;) )
I looked up Avanti - not only is it a very cool looking car but it was super speedy.
Lin, I have never driven one, but with that 289 supercharged, it was one hot car. Stylish, too. (I had to learn how to drive in nasty conditions all over when we went from rear-wheel to front-wheel drive.)
Grace, speedy indeed. I believe it set several records at The Salt Flats.
Even though I grew up in South Bend, I've never seen an Avanti on the street. Only ever in the Studebaker Museum.
Jim, I have seen Avantis on the street occasionally. Since I did not get a good close-up look at this one, I have to wonder it it was one of the original five or six thousand or if it is a more recent copy build.
I wouldn't have known what it was, except that it was different. Not much of a car person (much to middle son's distress)
I remember investing in "stock" with this company. I made money too. I just wish it had been a real investment with real money.
Ilene, one semester my eighth grade class and I ran an "Investment Company." Wish my investments over the years had done as well. Well, I'm blessed-- we're not broke.
Sharkey, not everyone is that 'into' cars, and that's okay. In recent years they all look alike, anyway. I think.
For some reason, I am thinking that you may have been the one who advised me to invest in Studebaker. If that is the case, it's too bad you didn't do that for real. I "made" quite a bit of money fake investing and selling at the end of 6 weeks, but I don't remember the dollar amounts.
