Photographic Potpourri, or

Why Ever Did I Snap that Shot?

No one around here likes jigsaw puzzles.  Not much.  Just finished these three; had to tear them down because BBBH just came in with another box.

Why?  Oh, yeah.  Time to read the garden meter.  City refunds the sewer portion of that usage.  No big deal you say?  Suppose I tell you the sewer bill is roughly 200% of the water bill.

The last of the blooms on this bush.

Why... Oh that's right.  Another downtown building scheduled for demolition.  Since I've lived here it has been a moving company, a bus station (oh, yes, we actually once upon a time had bus service to Indy and thence to wheresoever one wanted to go), and most recently offices for "emergency management."  Next door to jail (see lighter brick in bkgrd) and they need the space.

Look at the cars.  Clearly taken over half-century ago.  On the stump is daughter Ann.  With her is my niece Coleen.

Right.  This is a picture of a picture, but I liked it.

That dog is really helpful.  I don't do too well with the one-handed operation of the computer.

And all once again demonstrating the fact that you never know what you will get when you visit here.

Nice trip down memory lane! I enjoy working puzzles on cold winter nights. Maybe that's because it takes me back to special times during my childhood.

Isn't it curious how your photo essay is a picture or slice of life? It's like randomly picking 20% of the pieces from 5 different jig-saw puzzles and then trying to fit them together into something meaningful. Or am I wrong?

Vee, you remember, too! Puzzles, Chinese checkers. Stories. Good times.

Chuck, you are no doubt right. Fitting the pieces together, though, sometimes requires a little force, a little bending of the tabs. Well, you know how it is when you try to put together pieces from differenct puzzles.

I like jigsaw puzzles - haven't done one since I was a kid - now I do them on-line. I don't understand about the garden meter...I like your picture of a picture and I see that you, like my husband, are in need of an extra large recliner - not so much for the width as for the length.

Oh and I see the puppy has settled in nicely!

Grace, okay, the water meter. Our sewer bill is based on water usage. A garden meter measures the amount used, presumably, in such a way that it does not enter the sanitary sewer system, hence a rebate on the bill at the end of the season. And yes, I did have to buy the meter; but it has paid for itself many times over.

The dog has been "at home" since the day he arrived. And yes, I have a rather long frame, though probably not quite so long as your husband.

Love the potpourri of pictures. I can empathize with having the dog helping you on the computer. We have two blue heeler pups who think they have to help me whenever I sit down with the laptop...

I like jigsaw puzzles! We always do one on the kitchen table at Christmastime. We even had one going in our cottage on vacation this year too. It's fun to have everyone sit down and do it when they can. It's very addictive.

LOVE the Weiner Dog! Looks like it's true love. :)

Shelly, your coping skills far exceed mine, for I doubt I could deal with two dogs and a computer simultaneously. ;-)

Lin, part of the fun is that one can walk away at will and return to it at any old odd time he has available. We enjoy them.

A little collage of your life. I like it!

Sharkey, pretty much life as it is lived hereabouts.
