Tomorrow Will be Better

Finished therapy session.  Stopped by the doctor's office to talk with the nurse.  As I entered the building I took off the sunglasses, went ahead and took care of my business.

As I left the building I reached for my sunglasses.  Not hanging on my shirt; not in any of my jacket pockets.  Perhaps I left them in the car.  Nope.

Started car anyway.  Oh, well.  No!  Not gonna happen.  Spun around the lot and parked again, got out and went into the office.  No glasses on the receptionist's counter.  "I thought maybe I left my sunglasses lying here.  Guess not."
(This is what she saw.)
The lady smiled and said, "They are on top of your head."

"I feel like crying."
*slinks out the door*

Oh come on - a kabillion people do this everyday. Then there are the folks who wear their glasses on a chain around their necks and can't find their glasses. Or have you ever made yourself crazy looking for your glasses only to discover you are wearing them - over your eyes - Ha! (I've done that.) Or even people like who need their glasses to find their glasses...

Grace, I have heard of, or been the subject in, most of those scenarios. Sequel to this morning's tale: I had appointment with ophthalmologist in the afternoon, thirty miles down the road. Sunglasses on. Went to Dr. Came out, no sunglasses, searched all pockets. Nope. So I was fated to part with those shades on this day, I guess.

Oh, my! It runs in the family. I was in my mid forties when this happened to me. I was on the edge of bifocals but was not wanting to give in to wearing glasses all day. In the classroom, I took them off and put them back on according to my needs, using them only for reading. One day I was walking down the hall when a student approached me to sign a form. I told her that I would need to read it, and that she would have to come to my classroom so I could get my glasses. She looked at me, started laughing, and announced, "They are on your head!"

Ilene, I guess it does. When I started wearing readers I tried the croqui thing. More an impediment than a boon.

Oh no! That's funny. We all do it. And besides, you have an excuse...you haven't been feeling well. Me--I have no excuses...just human, I guess.

Glad you are out and about!

It wasn't sunglasses, but I've done similar things times without numbers.

I won't even share my incidents or you will think I'm a little nuts.

Sharkey, it is frustrating enough when we do it at home, but out in public?

Vee, either I do not think you are nuts, or I think we are all nuts.

I can so relate.

KCBob, as it turns out, I seldom find a person of a certain age who will not admit to this sort of foible.
