Waiting

Depart, Winter!  This is what we have been waiting for.  Lay in my hospital room dreaming of the day I could walk in the gardens and see greenery again.  Behold, the dream has come true.

The naked ladies, aka the resurrection lilies have broken earth!

The iris are greening up, even the ones left lying atop the soil.
What better sign of Spring?  Daffodils in bud.

I hope you enjoy Spring as much as I do.
It is a wondrous time of year.

"The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle* is heard in our land;"  --Song of Solomon 2:12 (KJV)

*Many translations read "turtledove."

In my front yard, the soccer fields are marked and ready for play. Soon little sprouts will be running to and fro, as parents and friends cheer them on. Indeed, spring is here.

My tree is not looking good - if it goes, we shall have to move, I couldn't bear to look out my window and not see it there. On other fronts, they have been mowing between stretches of rain...I'd like to see Spring spring into action a little quicker...(If wishes were horses...)

As you would expect, we are behind you in seeing signs of Spring. I did see some early shoots beginning to peek this morning.

Ilene, ah, Spring when the little sprouts sprout on the soccer field.

Grace, I do hope your tree survives and thrives. It will be a month or so yet before any mowing happens around here.

Chuck, the shoots arise in Central Indiana can those in Western Michigan be far behind?

I long all winter for the green. Today we took our guests to the Overland Park Arboretum and saw many things blooming. Some of the blossoming trees were stunning. Love Spring!

I've been out walking the yard with Owen...there are LOTS of little green sprouts popping up all over. What a glorious sight!

Vee, seems a visit to a bloomin' arboretum is just the ticket!

Lin, isn't Spring a time of wonder?!
