Thinking Out Loud

Just an observation.  It appears to me that this country resembles nothing more than a junior high school, the inhabitants children and all the teachers out to lunch, the rest of the world an unsupervised elementary school playground.

Grow up, people.

Dream the impossible dream, vanilla.

This is the worst I remember seeing. I cannot believe how divided and childish everyone is...pointing fingers, name-calling, rolling their eyes, digging their heels in the ground, leaving the playground when everyone doesn't play their game...

It makes me sad.

Your description, it seems to me, is spot on!

Lin, clearly makes me sad, too. But I have hope! Hope because we may be but a handful but there are still some of us who are adults. You, and Chuck, and me, for instance.

Chuck, one nearly always likes to be validated, but in this case I do wish I were the only one who sees things this way. Guess the condition really exists; pinching myself is not going to help.

I was thinking something similar the other day. All the name calling and massing whole groups of people into categories of morons or idiots... all the behaviors we were punished for as children have now become standard adult techniques for validating our own point of view.

Sharkey, exactly. Sad.

You are correct. There is not a lot of adulting going on in our society.

Vee, makes me weep for us all.
