Judgment Day?

Or, May 21, 2011.

If today is the day of the rapture, I will not be here tomorrow to read comments or to continue String Too Short to Tie.

I have absolute faith in the Word of God which reveals that the rapture will, indeed, occur. Christ will take His faithful out of this earth. However, I have zero faith in any man who names the time of this occurance. Just be ready whenever it occurs!

It is small wonder that the world at large, unbelievers, and skeptics, find it amusing when someone makes these predictions. And it would be amusing, if it were not for the fact that it reflects badly on those who are followers of Christ, for the skeptics assume that they are all kooks.

Matthew 24:4: And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8: All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9: Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10: And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11: And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13: But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Mt:24:44: Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Mt:25:13: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

If your life's in order, who cares when God calls in his chips?

Right on brother! Write on.

I agree with what you wrote.

The important part is to be ready for Christ's return. People who set dates obviously use something ohter than God's Word as their guide.

While the prediction was unlikely, it was certainly welcome. *sigh*

Even though some folks made crazy predictions and etc, I am dismayed by the tidal wave of scorn by sinners and Christians alike.

Isaac Newton predicted the year 2067 to be the end, based on intense mathematical calculations from the book of Daniel and planetary positions. Newton actually wrote more papers on his Bible studies than science, but the secularists aren't going to tell us that. And Daniel's prediction about when Messiah would come pinpointed the date of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the DAY (right before Passover). Moreover, Jesus DID say we'd known the signs and the season.... and God said He placed the sun and moon and stars for signs and seasons (and I honestly don't think He did it so we could know when Christmas Day rolls around every year)....

So while I'm not defending the guy who made today's prediction nor taking it seriously, I am alarmed at the amount of scorn and mocking it has received. This must have been what it was like for Noah... This is not the time to criticize or complain (and I'm not necessarily speaking directly to you but to a broader audience after hearing all the mocking yesterday), but to be sober and serious, praying vigilantly. The time IS near, that much is obvious.

Jim, just so we're ready.

Chuck, when He calls me, I will answer.

Vee, it could be today, or it might not be in our lifetime; but it will be soon.

Rebecca, the signs of His soon coming are evident. We have to be ready for it whenever it may be.
