50th Tipton County Pork Festival

49 years ago this week the Tipton County Pork Festival was launched, and thus it is that the 50th Annual Pork Festival will be underway Thursday, September 6 and will run through Saturday evening.

This link will take you to the festival homepage where you may find the schedule and the entertainment on the docket.

You're such a meanie! I refuse to click on the link, this is just as bad as when you told me you make your own persimmon jam...Not fair! (and the little piggies are so cute!)

If I wasn't in the middle of a mess, we'd take a ride. Maybe next year??? I would love to go to this!

Grace, wha-a? No one has to click on a link, but I have no recollection of doing anything "mean" with regard to persimmons. :-)

Lin, it would be nice to have you here, but look on the bright side: it is 95 degrees as I write this, and the forecast is for hot and/or rain for the rest of the week. Maybe next year will be better-- and your kitchen will be done!

Have fun and don't eat too much junk food. Not that they would have any junk food at a pork festival.

This weekend our town is hosting the County Old Settlers Festival. Each year it is scaled back and fewer people attend. The plus side is that parking spaces are plentiful. Today we have rain and a predicted high temperature of 70 so I'm guessing most parking spaces will be empty.
