Yesterday I told BBBH I wanted a hog oiler as decor in our front yard.
"No!" she said, "we are not hillbillies."
I'm hurt. I had this wonderful idea. Setting a hog oiler beside the sidewalk leading to our front door with a nice concrete, or fiberglass, Poland China rubbing up against it would be a fantastic representation of the economic contribution of our bailiwick. Not going to happen, but imagine it with me. Wouldn't it be great!
Today is the first time that I heard about a hog oiler. An interesting device it is. I think your proposition would be a very positive addition to the cultural and educational aspects of your town.
ReplyDeleteChuck, I am happy to be a contributor to your treasure trove of knowledge.
ReplyDeleteBut Poland Chinas originated in Ohio...
ReplyDeleteGrace, yes, they did; but they are mighty fine looking hogs! (A lot of Durocs and Hampshires around here, too.)
ReplyDeleteHuh- never heard of a hog oiler, but I was once thinking of writing a book about my (few) years spent in Indiana. The title was going to be "Hot Tar and Pigs"
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what that is, but it looks like I could wipe my shoes on it. ;)
ReplyDeleteSharkey, apt title. Guess you have been busied with many other projects.
ReplyDeleteLin, it's about 150 pounds of cast iron. Wipe away.
I'm with her!
ReplyDeleteVee, I might have known you would side with her.
