As we continue riffling through the old newspaper we find some clues regarding the costs of proper attire for the lady and her gentleman.
Dad always wore a fedora. Sometime in the nineties, I think, he was shopping for a new hat. He was appalled at the notion of paying eighty dollars for a new Dobbs hat. This may help us understand why he felt as he did.
The prices might have changed but the styles are still the same. Those ladies shoes are way stylin' - I wouldn't mind having a pair and fedoras are a staple of my hat wardrobe.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to see fedoras make a strong come back.
ReplyDelete"The Playboy" is much like the hat my hubby wears. Maybe I need to check into this!
ReplyDeleteChuck, I still wear mine.
ReplyDeleteVee, no worries; they had to call it something.
Hats do seem to be coming back into style. Especially with those who are folically challenged. ツ
ReplyDeleteKC Bob, I never wore a hat in my younger day which annoyed my father enough that he would chide me about it. My response? "Look at what your hat has done to your hairline."
